Where Does Summit Store Accounts and Cache?

Summit accounts live on Lemmy instances while feeds, drafts, and media cache fill app storage.

Last updated

Summit is a Lemmy client, so accounts, subscriptions, and community data live on your instance server. The phone holds feeds cache, drafts, and downloaded images in app-private storage.

The cache is disposable. Reinstalling and logging back in restores the account completely, minus anything never posted. Save keeper images to the gallery deliberately; cached copies evaporate with the app.

Instance account (subscriptions); app-private cache and drafts

Account and subscriptions sync from the Lemmy instance. The phone holds cache and drafts; log back in after reinstalling to restore everything.

Frequently asked questions

Do I lose my subscriptions if I reinstall?

Subscriptions, settings, and posts return on login to the same instance. Only unsent drafts and cache stay behind, so finish posting before wiping.
