Where Does TablePlus Store Connections and Queries?
TablePlus keeps connections in a plist under app data, with passwords in the OS keychain. Paths on macOS and Windows, plus migration.
Last updated
TablePlus splits your data in two. Connection details (hosts, ports, usernames) live in Connections.plist inside the app-data folder. Passwords and private keys live in the system keychain instead, which is why a copied plist alone asks for passwords on the new machine.
Saved queries and history sit beside it in Cache, general prefs in Temp. The folder trio can be redirected under Preferences to iCloud or Dropbox for sync. Move the files yourself first, since TablePlus will not migrate old data into the new location. Close the app before copying anything.
Where TablePlus stores this, by platform
~/Library/Application Support/com.tinyapp.TablePlus
Data holds Connections.plist, Cache holds queries and history, Temp holds the rest. Passwords stay in the Mac keychain. Use Go > Go to Folder in Finder to reach it.
%LOCALAPPDATA%\com.tinyapp.TablePlus
Same Data and Cache layout as macOS, confirmed by the Windows support tracker. Credentials live in Windows Credential Manager rather than the plist.
Frequently asked questions
How do I move TablePlus connections to a new computer?
Copy the Data and Cache folders above while TablePlus is closed, or use right-click Export Connections to a password-protected .tableplusconnection file and import it. Either way, re-enter passwords from your keychain on the new machine.
Can I sync TablePlus between two Macs?
Yes. Copy Data, Cache and Temp into three folders on iCloud Drive, then point Preferences at those folders under Locations. Keep hostnames in mind: the plist stores server addresses in plain text, so don't share the file carelessly.
