Where Does AllMyNotes Store Notes?

AllMyNotes keeps each notebook as a .ddb database file, defaulting to an AllMyNotes folder in Documents.

Last updated

AllMyNotes stores each notebook as a single .ddb database file, defaulting to an AllMyNotes folder inside Documents. Every note, attachment, and setting for that notebook travels inside the one file.

That makes backup obvious: copy the .ddb files. The app also writes automatic backups beside the originals on a schedule, so look for timestamped copies when something goes wrong. Move machines by copying the files and opening them with File, Open.

Where AllMyNotes stores this, by platform

Windows
<your chosen folder>\*.ddb

Default notebook location, changeable per notebook since files live wherever you save them. Automatic backup copies sit beside the originals. Copy .ddb files to migrate. Password protected notebooks need their passwords after moving too.
