Where Does Throne and Liberty Store Settings and Presets?

Throne and Liberty splits PC data between a TL folder in LocalAppData for settings and one in Documents for presets.

Last updated

On PC, Throne and Liberty keeps settings and keybinds in %LOCALAPPDATA%\TL, mostly INI files under Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor. Character customization files live somewhere else entirely: Documents\TL\Customize. Screenshots taken with Steam's F12 key go to Steam userdata, not either TL folder.

The split explains most lost-settings stories. Guides that say delete the TL folder mean the AppData one, which forces fresh graphics defaults. Your saved outfits and presets in Documents survive that. Copy both folders before a reinstall and you keep the lot.

Where Throne and Liberty stores this, by platform

Windows
%LOCALAPPDATA%\TL\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor

GameUserSettings.ini lives here. If settings will not stick, delete the files inside this folder and let the game rebuild them, then set options once and restart to confirm.

Windows
%USERPROFILE%\Documents\TL\Customize

Character presets. Documents may redirect to OneDrive on some setups, so check the OneDrive Documents path if this folder looks empty.

Frequently asked questions

How do I back up my Throne and Liberty settings and presets?

Copy %LOCALAPPDATA%\TL for graphics and keybinds plus Documents\TL for customization. Restore both to the same places on the new machine with the game closed.

Why do my settings reset after a disconnect?

A crash can corrupt the INI files in WindowsNoEditor. Delete that folder's contents, launch once, reconfigure, then exit cleanly. Players also flip bFinishedIntro to True in GameUserSettings.ini to skip the intro voice sequence.
