Where Does Tower Store Favorites and Settings?
Where Tower Git client keeps favorites, services and settings on Windows and Mac for moves.
Last updated
Tower keeps favorites, service connections and app settings in per OS app data: Roaming on Windows and Application Support on Mac. Repositories themselves live wherever you cloned them, usually Documents or code folders.
Copy the data folder with Tower closed for migration; tokens may need re-entering when the OS keychain changes. Cloned repos move like any folders with remotes intact. Reach Library through Go to Folder on Mac.
Where Tower stores this, by platform
%APPDATA%\Tower
Favorites and services in app data with repos cloned elsewhere. Close Tower before copying. Re-enter tokens when the keychain differs.
~/Library/Application Support/Tower
Same app data pattern under Application Support. Use Finder Go to Folder to reach it. Cloned repos move as plain folders.
Frequently asked questions
How do I move Tower to a new computer?
Sign in again on the new machine and copy the app data folder with Tower closed. Favorites and service logins travel in files; hosted repos clone fresh. Re-enter tokens where the keyring differs.
Which git accounts are connected in Tower?
Open Tower preferences and read the services list. Connected accounts show there with last used dates. The list always reflects the live state after token refreshes.
