Where Does TranslucentTB Store Settings?
TranslucentTB reads settings.json for taskbar effects. Store builds use a RoamingState package folder; portable uses the exe dir.

TranslucentTB keeps its whole configuration in settings.json: per-state taskbar accents and colors, window rules by class/title/process, tray and language options. Store/MSIX installs read it from a RoamingState folder under the app package in LocalAppData. Portable installs read it from the executable directory instead.
That split is the entire troubleshooting story for lost settings. Same Microsoft account, different install type, and the file lives elsewhere. Older guides mention config.cfg under Roaming; current builds use settings.json, so stale paths mean stale versions. Validate JSON after hand edits; a trailing comma silently keeps old behavior.
