Where Are Triangle Strategy Save Files Located?

Triangle Strategy keeps PC saves under Documents in a My Games folder, nested by platform and Steam ID.

Last updated

Triangle Strategy on PC stores saves in your Documents library, inside a My Games folder with the game's name on it. Below that sits a Steam folder, then a folder named after your numeric Steam ID, then SaveGames.

Each save slot is a file named TRIANGLE_STRATEGY-SaveData with a slot number. Copy the whole SaveGames folder for a backup. Slot numbers follow the file name, so renaming one to an empty slot moves it without touching the rest.

Where Triangle Strategy stores this, by platform

Windows
%USERPROFILE%\Documents\My Games\TRIANGLE_STRATEGY\Steam\[SteamID]\SaveGames

Paste into Explorer's address bar. [SteamID] is your numeric Steam account ID. Each slot file is named TRIANGLE_STRATEGY-SaveData_X.

Linux
~/.steam/steam/steamapps/compatdata/1850510/pfx/

Proton prefix for the Windows build (AppID 1850510). The same Documents path appears inside the prefix's virtual C: drive.

Windows
%USERPROFILE%\Documents\My Games\TRIANGLE_STRATEGY\Steam\Config\WindowsNoEditor

Config lives in a separate Config\WindowsNoEditor folder next to the Steam directory. Leave it alone unless you are editing graphics settings by hand.

Frequently asked questions

What is the numbered folder inside the Steam directory?

The numbered folder is your Steam account ID. If several accounts have used the PC you will see several, so match the right one before copying anything.

Why is there a Config folder next to my saves?

Yes, that is normal. The config editor lives in a Config folder next to it, and the two get mixed up in some guides. Saves are the ones that matter for backup.
