Where Is the Trojan Proxy Config File?
Trojan clients and servers read connection settings from a JSON config file you create and reference.
Last updated
Trojan has no fixed config path. You write a JSON file with the remote address, port, and password, then hand it to the client or server binary at startup.
Because the path is yours to choose, the service definition is the map to it. The conventional home on a Linux host is under /etc with the other proxy configs. Document the location in your deployment notes; future you will not remember it.
Where Trojan stores this, by platform
/etc/trojan/config.json
Conventional location; the actual path is whatever your command line or service unit says. Remote address, port, and password all live here.
Frequently asked questions
How should I manage the config across servers?
Keep the file with your other proxy configs and reference it from the service unit. Passwords live in that file, so guard it like credentials and never commit it.
