Where Does Trust Wallet Store Backups and Keys?

Trust Wallet splits backups three ways: extension storage, iCloud Drive files, and Google Drive files.

Last updated

Trust Wallet keeps three separate backups: encrypted data in the Chrome extension folder under ID egjidjbpglichdcondbcbdnbeeppgdph, an encrypted .json in iCloud Drive under a Trust folder, and a Google Drive copy on Android. The 12-word phrase restores from any of them.

Each path needs its own password discipline. The cloud copies encrypt with a password only you hold, and reusing your cloud password for it defeats the purpose. Check which backups actually exist before you need them; most users have fewer than they assume.

Where Trust Wallet stores this, by platform

Windows
%LOCALAPPDATA%\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default\Local Extension Settings\egjidjbpglichdcondbcbdnbeeppgdph

Encrypted extension storage under the Trust store ID. Copy with the browser closed; never edit .ldb files. The phrase restores regardless of files.

macOS
~/Library/Application Support/Google/Chrome/Default/Local Extension Settings/egjidjbpglichdcondbcbdnbeeppgdph

Same extension-ID folder on macOS. The iCloud Drive Trust folder with the .json backup lives separately and is the easier rescue path.

Linux
~/.config/google-chrome/Default/Local Extension Settings/egjidjbpglichdcondbcbdnbeeppgdph

Same extension-ID folder under the Chrome config root. Android relies on the Google Drive encrypted backup instead of browsable files.

iOS
iCloud Drive/Trust/*.json (encrypted cloud backup)

No browsable wallet file on the phone. Encrypted backups sit in iCloud Drive under Trust (iOS) or Google Drive (Android). Verify they exist before you need them.

Frequently asked questions

Where is my Trust Wallet iCloud backup?

Open Files, browse iCloud Drive, and look for a Trust folder with a .json backup inside. Copy it elsewhere without moving the original. No folder means no iCloud backup was ever made.

How do I back up the Trust Wallet extension?

Open the extension folder with the browser closed and copy it whole. Never edit .ldb files; touching them corrupts the backup. The folder is a rescue copy, not a migration path.
