Where Does the Uber App Store Data?

The Uber ride app keeps trips in private storage. Uber Eats is a separate app with its own data. Same login brings back trips on a new phone.

Last updated

Uber splits ride hailing and food delivery into separate listings with separate storage. The ride app runs the classic com.ubercab package on Android. Private storage holds the login session plus the trip cache. The cache keeps recent trips and viewed map images.

Trips live server side under the account. Logging into the same account on the new phone brings back trips and receipts. The iOS bundle is unverified, so quote App Store ID 368677368 to support. Do not copy one profile into the other. Receipts sync from servers after login.

Where Uber stores this, by platform

Android
/data/data/com.ubercab

Private session and trip cache for the classic ride package. Eats sibling uses a separate ID with its own storage.

iOS
/var/mobile/Containers/Data/Application/<guid>/Documents

GUID container for the Uber ride app (App Store ID 368677368). Bundle unverified; quote the numeric ID.

Frequently asked questions

Is Uber Eats the same app?

Install the ride build at com.ubercab. Uber Eats uses the parallel eats package with separate data. Same login works in both; trip histories do not merge.

Do Uber trips transfer phones?

Log into the same Uber account on the new phone. Trips and receipts sync from servers after login. Local data holds session and map cache only, so saved trips return after login.
