Where Does Warframe Store Settings on PC?
Warframe local settings file EE.cfg on PC, and why your frames and weapons are never in it.
Last updated
Warframe keeps local options in %LOCALAPPDATA%\Warframe\EE.cfg: keybindings, graphics, and the account email the launcher remembers. Inventory, quest progress and frames live on Digital Extremes servers with cross platform save, so EE.cfg never holds anything you would mourn.
That split makes troubleshooting painless. Deleting EE.cfg resets options to defaults without touching progress, and the launcher gear icon has a Get Logs action that copies EE.cfg to a Warframe Logs folder on your desktop for support tickets.
Where Warframe stores this, by platform
%LOCALAPPDATA%\Warframe\EE.cfg
Local settings only (keybindings, graphics, remembered email). Editor.cfg and a hex named folder sit alongside; the asset cache lives under the install (Steam AppID 230410). No native Linux or Mac build exists.
Frequently asked questions
Is it safe to delete EE.cfg?
Yes for your progress. It resets graphics and keybindings to defaults and nothing else, since frames, weapons and quests live on DE servers. Back it up first anyway if your binds are elaborate.
Where do I find my Warframe logs for a support ticket?
Click the gear icon in the launcher and choose Get Logs. It copies EE.cfg and diagnostics into a Warframe Logs folder on your desktop, ready to attach.
