Where Are Wargroove Save Files Located?

Wargroove save folder on Windows, macOS and Linux, the options file beside it, and the odd Mac path.

Last updated

Wargroove stores campaigns in a save folder under a Chucklefish tree, with a save_local folder beside it holding the options file. The layout matches on all three desktop systems, only the parent moves.

The Mac path is the odd one: it sits directly in Library rather than Application Support, which breaks muscle memory. Steam Cloud covers the saves. Copy the whole Wargroove folder with the game closed to keep campaigns and options aligned.

Where Wargroove stores this, by platform

Windows
%appdata%\Chucklefish\Wargroove\save

Options live beside saves in save_local\options. Copy the whole Wargroove folder to keep campaigns and settings together.

macOS
~/Library/Chucklefish/Wargroove/save

Directly under Library, not Application Support, which is easy to miss. Use Go to Folder in Finder to reach it.

Linux
~/.local/share/Chucklefish/Wargroove/save

Standard XDG data home path. Save format matches other platforms, so cross platform copies work file for file.

Frequently asked questions

Where is the Wargroove options file?

In save_local\options beside the save folder on every OS. Deleting it resets options to defaults without touching any campaign.

How do I move Wargroove progress to another computer?

Close the game and copy the whole Wargroove folder into place on the target machine. Pause cloud sync until the campaigns load, then re-enable it.
