Where Does Wasabi Wallet Store Wallets on PC?
Wasabi Bitcoin wallets and settings on Windows, macOS and Linux for safe backups.
Last updated
Wasabi keeps wallet JSON files in per OS app data under a WalletWasabi Client folder. Coins never leave disk unless you copy them.
Backing up means copying wallet files plus keeping the seed phrase offline. Passwords gate spending and no file replaces them. Check the built in backup folder path when unsure.
Where Wasabi Wallet stores this, by platform
%APPDATA%\WalletWasabi\Client\Wallets\
Wallet JSONs here; settings one level up in Client. Copy the Wallets folder encrypted. Seeds on paper beat any disk copy for recovery.
~/.walletwasabi/client/Wallets/
Home folder layout on Mac (also ~/Library/Application Support/WalletWasabi on some builds, so check both). Use Go to Folder in Finder.
~/.walletwasabi/client/Wallets/
Home folder layout. Config sits beside Wallets in client. Keep perms tight; wallet files travel with passwords you must remember.
Frequently asked questions
Which Wasabi files do I back up?
The wallet JSONs in the Wallets folder above, stored encrypted. Seeds matter more than files. Test opening a copy on a second profile before wiping.
Where are Wasabi settings?
One level above Wallets in the Client folder (config plus logs). Backend and fee choices live there. Copy wallets separately; settings alone restore nothing.
