Where Does the WeatherPro App Store Data?

MeteoGroup WeatherPro keeps favorites and radar cache in private storage under unrelated platform IDs.

Last updated

Weather app WeatherPro runs historically unrelated IDs per platform. The app name stayed the same while the IDs diverged over time. Private storage holds places and favorites on both systems. It also holds radar cache tied to those saved places on the device.

Forecasts come from MeteoGroup servers and load on demand in the app. Local data is favorites plus tiles for saved places. Saved lists stay on the old device and do not move alone. Fresh login restores everything where the same account is signed in after reinstall.

Why do WeatherPro IDs differ so much?

Android uses com.mg.android while iOS uses a de.meteogroup.WeatherPro twin. Same app, unrelated strings from company history. Confirm in system app info.
