Where Does Wild Rift Store Game Data on Mobile?
Champions, skins and rank tie to your Riot account on Riot's servers. The phone keeps patches, assets and login tokens only.
Last updated
Wild Rift runs on the same Riot account system as League on PC. Champions, skins, Wild Cores and ranked standing all live on Riot servers, and signing in with the same Riot account on a new phone brings every one of them back. Local storage is a working copy: the current patch, champion assets, audio packs and the login tokens that keep you signed in between sessions. It rebuilds itself after a reinstall, awkwardly large but harmless.
The detail people forget is the server region picked at account creation. An account belongs to the region it was made in, and collections and ranked standing stay there. Moving to a new country does not move them, and neither does installing the game fresh. For the common case, a straight phone upgrade, it is as simple as installing the game and signing in.
Where League of Legends: Wild Rift stores this, by platform
/storage/emulated/0/Android/data/com.riotgames.league.wildrift
Patch data, champion and board assets, plus sign-in state. Hidden from file managers on Android 11 and later. Clearing it logs you out and forces a fresh download without touching the Riot account.
/var/mobile/Containers/Data/Application/<guid>/Documents
Per-install container, GUID changes after each reinstall, browsing needs a jailbreak. Full backups include it, but the Riot login is what restores champions and rank.
Frequently asked questions
How do I transfer Wild Rift to a new phone?
Install the game and sign in with the same Riot account and the same region. Champions, skins and rank return from the servers. There is nothing to copy between devices, and an unlinked guest profile cannot be salvaged.
My account looks empty after logging in. Did I lose everything?
Almost always the wrong region or the wrong Riot account. The region selector at login decides which collection you see, and each region holds its own copy of your progress. Pick the region where you originally played and the champions reappear.
How much space can I reclaim by clearing Wild Rift data?
Several gigabytes on a long-lived install, since every balance patch and new champion adds assets. The game re-downloads what it needs on the next launch, so plan for a long load and use Wi-Fi. Progress is never part of the cleanup.
