Where Does Abaddon Store Settings and Data?
Abaddon reads abaddon.ini from the working dir or ~/.config/abaddon, with resources in local share and tokens in the keychain.
Last updated
Abaddon configures through abaddon.ini: token, gateway overrides, GUI toggles, CSS path, notification and voice settings. It loads from the working directory first, then ~/.config/abaddon, overridable with ABADDON_CONFIG.
Edit it with the client closed. Tokens can live in the system keychain instead of the file (keychain defaults on), which keeps secrets out of dotfile repos while settings stay versionable.
Where Abaddon stores this, by platform
~/.config/abaddon/abaddon.ini
Token, gateway, GUI, voice, notifications. Working dir copy beats the config dir one. Resources (res, css) also load from ~/.local/share/abaddon.
~/.config/abaddon/abaddon.ini
Same files. Stock emojis and styling flags (stock_emojis, css path) live here; voice needs the optional audio backends compiled in.
Frequently asked questions
How do I log into Abaddon?
Follow the DiscordChatExporter token guide (devtools network tab, Authorization header) and paste it into Abaddon. Prefer token login over password login, which risks the account.
Can I relocate abaddon.ini?
Set ABADDON_CONFIG to the path you want (relative or absolute). Working directory ini still wins when present, so remove stray copies when testing the variable.
