Where Are Age of Empires 4 Save Files Located?
Age of Empires 4's My Games save tree with user code layer and campaign files.
Last updated
Age of Empires 4 keeps saves in Documents under My Games, with a Users layer keyed by user code below the game folder. Campaign progress, skirmish saves and replays branch below that.
Steam and Xbox editions share the pattern with different account roots. Copy the whole Age of Empires IV tree when migrating, since profiles and saves reference each other.
Where Age of Empires 4 stores this, by platform
%USERPROFILE%\Documents\My Games\Age of Empires IV\SaveGames
Below it sit Users folders keyed by code. Check OneDrive Documents first if the tree looks empty. Xbox builds sync through the account rather than this folder.
Frequently asked questions
Can I move AoE4 saves to a new PC?
Yes. Copy the full Age of Empires IV folder into Documents My Games on the new machine with the game closed. Launch once and the profile picks up where it left off.
Where are AoE4 replays?
Alongside saves below the Users tree. They version stamp tightly, so replays from older patches often refuse to play after big updates.
