Where Are Age of Mythology: Retold Saves Located?
Retold saves under Games Age of Mythology Retold with a numeric profile folder, synced through Steam and Xbox Cloud.
Last updated
Retold ignores Documents My Games conventions. Saves live under user profile Games then Age of Mythology Retold, inside a 16 digit profile folder, in savegame. Campaigns, skirmishes, and replays share that tree. Config XMLs sit in a sibling users folder.
Both Steam Cloud and Xbox Cloud sync the same folders, with crossplay across PC and Xbox. That numeric profile folder is the gotcha: guides quoting paths without it send you to an empty parent. Copy the whole numeric folder for migration, not single scenarios.
Where Age of Mythology: Retold stores this, by platform
%USERPROFILE%\Games\Age of Mythology Retold\[16-digit-ID]\savegame
Configs in the sibling users folder as XML. Same layout for Steam and Microsoft Store builds. Linux Proton mirrors it under compatdata 1934680.
