Where Are AI LIMIT Save Files Located?

AI LIMIT save folder on PC, which .sav file matters, and why you should back up before opening the game on a second PC.

Last updated

AI LIMIT is a Unity game, so saves live in LocalLow under the SenseGames company folder, inside an Archive subfolder. The developer confirmed this path directly when Steam Cloud support launched. Everything for your run sits in that one folder.

Cloud sync arrived in a post-launch patch, and early on it caused overwrites for players opening the game on a second machine. Keep a manual copy of the Archive folder before launching on a laptop or Deck for the first time. It takes seconds and avoids the most common way people lose runs.

Where AI LIMIT stores this, by platform

Windows
C:\Users\[Username]\AppData\LocalLow\SenseGames\AILIMIT\Archive

The key file is ai-limit_sav-data.sav with sibling backups beside it. Back up the whole Archive folder so the backups travel with the main file.

Linux
~/.steam/steam/steamapps/compatdata/2407270/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/AppData/LocalLow/SenseGames/AILIMIT/Archive

Proton prefix for Steam Deck and Linux desktops, app ID 2407270. Same Archive contents as Windows, so copies move across directly.

Frequently asked questions

Which AI LIMIT file do I back up?

Copy the entire Archive folder. The live run is ai-limit_sav-data.sav, and the game keeps extra backup copies beside it that are worth preserving too.

My AI LIMIT save was overwritten by a fresh game. Why?

Opening the game on a second machine before cloud sync finished could replace the run. Restore from your manual Archive backup with Steam Cloud off, then relaunch to re-sync.
