Where Are Bluey: The Videogame Save Files Located?

Bluey saves live in the Windows Registry, not in files. Here are the exact keys plus where the logs sit.

Last updated

Bluey: The Videogame stores progress in the Windows Registry. There is no save file to copy. Unity builds default to a DefaultCompany key when the developer leaves the company name unset, which is exactly what happened at launch.

Later patches moved saves to an Outright Games Ltd key. The old LocalLow folder still exists but holds logs only. This trips up parents who back up AppData and find nothing inside. Export the registry key instead.

Where Bluey: The Videogame stores this, by platform

Windows
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Outright Games Ltd\Bluey The Videogame

Open regedit and paste the path into the address bar. Right click the key to export it as a .reg backup. This is the current location for patched builds.

Windows
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\DefaultCompany\Project biscuits

Launch versions (1.0 through 1.0.6) used this key, with a space variant Project biscuits in some builds. Check here if the Outright key is empty. Logs, not saves, sit in AppData LocalLow DefaultCompany Project biscuits.

Linux
~/.steam/steam/steamapps/compatdata/2078350/pfx/

Steam Play prefix for AppID 2078350. Registry hives for Proton games live under the prefix. Use Protontricks or regedit in the prefix rather than typing a file path.

Frequently asked questions

How do I transfer Bluey saves to another PC?

Open regedit, right click the Outright Games Ltd key and choose Export. Save the .reg file somewhere safe. On the new PC, double click it to import with the game closed.

Why do guides list two different registry paths?

Both. Version 1.0 used DefaultCompany/Project biscuits. Post update builds use Outright Games Ltd/Bluey The Videogame. Check the older key first if the newer one is empty.
