Where Does Alarms & Clock Store Alarms on Windows?
Where the Alarms and Clock app keeps alarms, timers and world clock data on Windows for backup.
Last updated
Alarms and Clock keeps everything inside its package folder under LocalAppData: alarm definitions, timer presets and world clock cities in a small database. Nothing lands in Documents.
Copy the LocalState parent with the app closed for migration. Timers do not survive a move mid countdown; only saved presets travel. Notification permission decides whether alarms ring on the new machine, so verify it after restoring.
Where Alarms & Clock stores this, by platform
%LOCALAPPDATA%\Packages\Microsoft.WindowsAlarms_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalState
Alarms, timers and world clock under the WindowsAlarms package LocalState. Copy with the app closed. Re-check notification permission after restoring.
Frequently asked questions
How do I back up my alarms?
Close the app and copy the package LocalState folder elsewhere. Alarms, timers and world clock entries travel together. Restoring means dropping it back before launch on the same build.
My alarm did not ring. What should I check?
Alarms depend on notifications and background access for the app. Check Settings, System, Notifications, plus battery saver state. An alarm with no permission fires silently or not at all.
