Where Does Beeftext Store Combos and Settings?

Beeftext keeps settings and the combo list in %LOCALAPPDATA%\beeftext.org\Beeftext on installed setups (a Data folder for portable), with full backups via Advanced, Backup.

Last updated

Beeftext stores its working data in one folder: settings, combo list, and debug log together. Installed copies use the LocalAppData path under beeftext.org. Portable copies keep a Data folder beside the executable and leave the system untouched.

Backups come in two flavors. Export shares selected combos as JSON or CSV for moving between people. The Advanced Backup writes the whole library including groups for disaster recovery. Knowing which one you need decides whether groups survive the trip.

Settings, combo list, and logs for installed copies. Translations live beneath too. Back up via Advanced Backup rather than copying live files.

Frequently asked questions

How do I back up Beeftext combos?

Use Advanced, Backup to export the whole library including groups to a .btbackup file, and Advanced, Restore to bring it back. Restore replaces everything, so export first. Regular Export covers combos without groups for sharing.

How do I move portable Beeftext?

Copy the Data folder contents to the new machine in the same layout. Portable mode touches neither AppData nor the registry, so the folder is the entire install state. The installer version cannot use a custom combo path.
