Where Is Clash of Clans Progress Stored?
Villages, trophies and Clan Capital progress live on Supercell's servers. Local storage keeps cache, settings and nothing worth backing up.
Last updated
Clan wars, trophy counts and every wall upgrade live on Supercell's servers under your Supercell ID. The phone keeps cache, downloaded art and a login token. Nothing in those folders can hold a village.
This design is why a lost phone is an annoyance rather than a disaster, provided the ID was registered to an email you still have. Register it early and device moves become a two minute login. Skip it and a support request is your only path back.
Where Clash of Clans stores this, by platform
/storage/emulated/0/Android/data/com.supercell.clashofclans
Cache and login state. Clearing it just unlinks the device; the ID signs you back in with the village intact. Folders like this are hidden from normal file managers on Android 11 and later.
/var/mobile/Containers/Data/Application/<guid>/Documents
A per install container that changes with every reinstall. Restores run through Supercell ID, not file copies or device backups, so back up the email behind the ID instead.
Frequently asked questions
How do I move my Clash of Clans village to a new phone?
On the old phone, register Supercell ID with your email under settings, then sign in with that ID on the new phone. The village follows the ID across Android and iOS both ways. Do this while you still have access to the old device.
Do gems bought on iPhone work on Android?
Only the ones earned in the game travel. Gems bought through the App Store stay tied to iOS purchases and Android bought gems wait on Android, since each store manages its own billing. Everything else on the account syncs normally.
Can I merge two Clash of Clans accounts?
No. Supercell does not combine accounts, and attempts to work around it can run into their rules. Pick one as the main and leave the other where it is. Only a whole account moves to a new device, never pieces of two into one.
