Cultist Simulator stores its entire run in a single text file called save.txt. It sits in a Weather Factory folder under LocalLow on Windows, with matching platform paths on Mac and Linux.
Single-file saves are wonderfully simple to back up and terribly easy to lose. The whole cult hinges on that one file, so copy it before reinstalling or verifying. The game even offers in-game buttons to open the save location, which tells you how often players go looking.
