Where Are Date Everything Save Files Located?
Date Everything's Unity save folder on Windows and where it sits inside a Proton prefix on Linux.
Last updated
Date Everything follows the Unity convention and saves under LocalLow in a SassyChap folder. The path includes a space in Date Everything, which breaks naive copy paste if you drop the quotes in a script.
There is no per character file to cherry pick. Back up the whole Date Everything folder when you want to preserve a run across its hundred-plus datable objects.
Where Date Everything stores this, by platform
%USERPROFILE%\AppData\LocalLow\SassyChap\Date Everything
Paste with quotes if scripting. Copy the full Date Everything folder to migrate. Steam Cloud status is minimal, so treat this copy as the master.
~/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/compatdata/2201320/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/AppData/LocalLow/SassyChap/Date Everything
Proton prefix for AppID 2201320. The SassyChap/Date Everything tail inside the prefix matches Windows exactly.
Frequently asked questions
Can I back up a single romance route?
Not cleanly. Progress shares files across routes, so copy the entire Date Everything directory if you want a restorable snapshot.
My saves vanished after switching Proton versions. Where did they go?
A prefix reset orphans the old compatdata folder. Check 2201320 under steamapps/compatdata for backups before launching again with the new version.
