Where Are Deadlink Save Files Located?

Deadlink saves to a Deadlink LocalAppData tree with the classic doubled Saved SaveGames nesting.

Last updated

Deadlink follows the standard Unreal Engine 4 layout with one funny wrinkle: the saves sit in Saved SaveGames, a doubled folder name straight from the engine defaults.

That nesting confuses manual backups that stop one level too early. Copy the Deadlink tree itself and both halves travel. Config sits in the sibling Config folder for graphics tweaks, and Steam Cloud mirrors the saves regardless.

Where Deadlink stores this, by platform

Windows
%LOCALAPPDATA%\Deadlink\Saved\SavedGames

Run progress in the doubled Saved SaveGames nesting. Copy the parent Deadlink tree rather than stopping a level early.

Windows
%LOCALAPPDATA%\Deadlink\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor

Graphics and engine ini files (WindowsNoEditor). Separate from progress; reset freely when troubleshooting.

Linux
~/.steam/steam/steamapps/compatdata/1676130/pfx/

Proton prefix for the Windows build (AppID 1676130). The Deadlink tree appears inside the prefix's virtual LocalAppData.

Frequently asked questions

How do I move everything to a new PC?

Copy the whole Deadlink folder with the game closed. Saves and config travel together, and Steam Cloud reconciles the saves on first launch.
