Where Are Discounty Save Files Located?
Discounty saves as plain JSON files in LocalLow, one per slot, which makes backups and rescue edits simple.
Last updated
Discounty stores each shop as a readable JSON file in a Crinkle Cut Games folder in LocalLow. Save0, Save1 and Save2 map directly to the in-game slots, so identifying which file belongs to which store takes no detective work.
JSON saves are a gift when something breaks. A corrupted run can sometimes be rescued by comparing against the Chapter save-state files beside it. Copy the whole Discounty folder before risky story decisions and both the slots and the safety nets travel together.

C:\Users\[Username]\AppData\LocalLow\Crinkle Cut Games\Discounty
Save0-2.json are the slots, SaveData2.json and Chapter4Save files are extra state. Back up the folder, not single files.

Proton prefix for Steam Deck and Linux desktops, app ID 2274620. JSON files copy across platforms without conversion.
Frequently asked questions
Which Discounty file is my shop?
Save0.json, Save1.json and Save2.json match slots one to three. The Chapter4Save files hold late-story state, so keep them with the slot files.
Can I edit Discounty saves?
They are plain JSON, so yes with a text editor while the game is closed. Back up first, since a malformed edit fails silently and the game starts a fresh shop.
