Where Are Dispatch Save Files Located?

Dispatch's autosave folder on Windows and its Proton path on Linux, plus how slots map to files.

Last updated

Dispatch never asks you to save. It writes Unreal autosaves into a Dispatch/Saved/SaveGames folder in local AppData, one .sav per slot. That makes backups simple: grab the folder and every episode choice comes with it.

Config sits nearby under Dispatch/Config/WindowsNoEditor if you need to reset graphics without touching progress. On Linux the game runs via Proton, so the same Windows style path appears inside its compatdata prefix.

Where Dispatch stores this, by platform

Windows
%LOCALAPPDATA%\Dispatch\Saved\SaveGames

Each slot is its own .sav file. Back up the full SaveGames folder with the game closed. Steam Cloud syncs this same directory.

Linux
~/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/compatdata/2592160/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/AppData/Local/Dispatch/Saved/SaveGames

Proton prefix for AppID 2592160. Library location may vary, but the Dispatch/Saved/SaveGames tail inside the prefix does not.

Frequently asked questions

Does Dispatch have manual saves?

No. It autosaves at fixed points and locks choices in. If you want to explore branches, back up SaveGames first, then replay from a copied slot.

Can I reset settings without losing story progress?

Yes. Delete or rename Dispatch/Config/WindowsNoEditor while leaving Saved/SaveGames alone. The game rebuilds default settings on next launch.
