Where Does Dolphin Emulator Store Saves?
Dolphin Emulator save, memory card and Wii NAND paths on Windows, macOS and Linux, and which folders to back up per game.
Last updated
Dolphin splits saves by console. GameCube memory cards live as .raw files in a GC folder. Wii saves live inside a Wii NAND tree with title IDs. Savestates sit apart in a StateSaves folder and are version sensitive.
Standalone builds use Documents/Dolphin Emulator on Windows by default. On Mac and Linux the same tree sits under Application Support or XDG data paths. Copy the whole emulator folder to move every game at once. Flatpak users should check the sandbox path.
Where Dolphin Emulator stores this, by platform
C:\Users\[Username]\Documents\Dolphin Emulator
GameCube cards are in GC/MemoryCardA.USA.raw and similar. Wii saves are under Wii/title. Portable builds use a User folder next to Dolphin.exe instead.
~/Library/Application Support/Dolphin
Same internal layout as Windows. Use Go > Go to Folder in Finder. Back up GC and Wii subfolders together to keep both consoles.
~/.local/share/dolphin-emu
Config is separate at ~/.config/dolphin-emu. For saves, back up the data path above. Flatpak builds use ~/.var/app/org.DolphinEmu.dolphin-emu/data/dolphin-emu instead.
