Where Does DYMO Connect Store Labels and Address Books?
Where DYMO Connect keeps labels and address books on Windows and macOS, plus how to move them to a new PC.
Last updated
DYMO Connect stores user data in Documents rather than AppData. Labels go wherever you save them, but address books have a fixed home in a DYMO Connect subfolder. The main file is addressbook.db, and deleting it makes the app build a fresh empty one on next launch.
That fixed location is handy for backups and also the cause of most corruption reports. If Connect crashes on start, close it and move addressbook.db out of the folder. The app recreates the file, and you can reimport contacts from the moved copy. Preferences on Mac live in a plist under Library Preferences.
Where DYMO Connect stores this, by platform
%userprofile%\Documents\DYMO Connect
Address books live in Documents\DYMO Connect\Address Books as addressbook.db. Back up that folder before uninstalling. Cache sits under %localappdata%\DYMO.
~/Documents/DYMO Connect
Same Documents layout as Windows. If the app loops on launch, delete com.dymo.dym-connect.plist in ~/Library/Preferences after backing up your labels.
Frequently asked questions
How do I move DYMO labels to a new computer?
Copy the DYMO Connect folder from Documents to the same spot on the new PC, then launch the app. For old DYMO Label files, use File then Manage Contacts and pick Import from DYMO Label. The addressbook.db file carries your contacts, so do not skip it.
Where did my old DYMO Label files go after upgrading?
DYMO Label used Documents\DYMO Label, while Connect uses Documents\DYMO Connect. The installer does not migrate them automatically. Import the old .ABX address book through Manage Contacts after installing Connect.
