Where Are Eversion Save Files Located?
Where Eversion keeps its single sav file plus config on each OS, and how Linux splits the two apart.
Last updated
Eversion keeps progress in one sav file with a config file beside it on most systems. Windows reads both next to the game install. Mac reads both under Application Support. Linux splits them across share and config trees.
Steam Cloud syncs the set without a userdata folder naming scheme to memorize. That single file design makes backup trivial once the right folder is found. Copy the pair together with the game closed. Gem states share the sav file, so one backup covers every world shift. Copy the pair together every time.
Where Eversion stores this, by platform
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Eversion\save.sav
Single sav file plus config next to the game install. Protected paths divert writes to VirtualStore. Cloud syncs the same files.
~/Library/Application Support/Eversion/save.sav
Same sav plus config under Application Support. One folder holds the pair unlike Linux. Reach Library through Go to Folder.
~/.local/share/Eversion/save.sav
Sav under the share tree with config separately in the config tree. Back up both paths together. Follows XDG split rules.
Frequently asked questions
My Eversion install folder has no save file. Where is it?
The Windows build writes next to the exe, so installs under Program Files divert writes into the VirtualStore mirror. Check that mirror when the install folder looks save free. Move the game out of protected paths to stop the split.
Why does Linux keep Eversion saves and config apart?
Saves live under the share tree while the config file lives under the config tree on Linux. Back up both paths together for a full move. Windows and Mac keep the pair in one folder instead.
