Where Does Fedilab Store Accounts and Drafts?

Fedilab keeps accounts, drafts, and scheduled posts in its private sandbox. Drafts are the part that hurts to lose.

Last updated

Fedilab fronts many fediverse apps at once, and its sandbox mirrors that. Tokens for each account, local drafts, and the scheduled queue all sit in private storage.

Published content is safe on your instances. Everything pending is not. Fedilab drafts have no export, so the migration story is login again plus a warning about the queue.

Account tokens, drafts, and scheduled queue. Needs root to browse. No export, migrate by logging in again.

Frequently asked questions

How do I move Fedilab to a new phone?

Log into each account again on the new phone. Published posts and follows live on your instances. Drafts and scheduled posts stay behind.

Do scheduled posts survive reinstall?

Scheduled posts wait in the local sandbox until their time comes. Uninstalling early deletes them silently. Publish or copy them first.

Best way to keep a long thread safe?

Share it to Fedilab instead of drafting inside it. Queued media in the sandbox clears with the app, posted media lives on the server.
