Where Does Final Cut Camera Save Videos?

Final Cut Camera records into its own Files folder library, not Photos, with optional direct capture to external SSDs.

Last updated

Final Cut Camera keeps its own media library apart from Photos. Takes land in Files under On My iPhone then Final Cut Camera then DCIM then 100APPLE, or straight to an attached SSD in the same DCIM layout. That separation keeps hour long shoots out of iCloud Photos.

Review from the in app browser mini library. Deliver with Transfer Media to Final Cut Pro for iPad over Live Multicam, AirDrop to Mac, or Files copies including Finder USB pulls. Deleting the app wipes internal takes, so offload first.

Files > On My iPhone > Final Cut Camera > DCIM > 100APPLE

External SSD recording uses DCIM 100APPLE on the drive (ExFAT recommended; APFS had issues in some builds). Share to Photos, iCloud Drive, or Final Cut Pro from the browser when ready.
