Where Does FlashGot Store Jobs and History?
Where FlashGot keeps download jobs, filters and history inside Firefox profiles for backup.
Last updated
FlashGot lives inside the Firefox profile like other download extensions: job state and filters in extension storage, default folder and manager options in prefs.js entries. There is no standalone data file outside the profile.
Find the live profile through about:profiles first. Copy with Firefox closed so storage flushes to disk. Downloads land wherever jobs sent them and need their own backup apart from settings.
Where FlashGot stores this, by platform
%APPDATA%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles
Jobs in extension storage, defaults in prefs.js, all inside the Firefox profile. Confirm the profile with about:profiles. Copy with Firefox closed.
~/Library/Application Support/Firefox/Profiles
Same profile relative layout under home Library. Use about:profiles for the live Root Directory. Jobs restore on matching extension versions.
~/.mozilla/firefox
Same profile relative layout under home. Check snap or flatpak variants for relocated parents. Downloads need separate copies.
Frequently asked questions
How do I back up FlashGot jobs?
Copy the extension storage plus prefs entries with Firefox closed, or export through the manager where offered. Jobs travel in extension storage, defaults in prefs. Restoring means dropping both back first.
Which Firefox profile holds FlashGot data?
Open about:profiles and read the Root Directory of the live profile. Extension data lives under storage inside it. The page wins over documented defaults with multiple profiles.
