Where Does Fleep Store Local Data on Desktop?
Where the Fleep desktop app keeps workspaces, files and settings on Windows, Mac and Linux.
Last updated
Fleep is an Electron team chat, so local state follows the per OS user data pattern: cache, Local Storage and preferences under one parent. Conversations themselves sync from the account, which makes local copies a performance matter rather than a backup.
Sign in restores everything that counts. Copy the data folder only to preserve drafts or speed up first sync. Downloads land in your chosen folder and need their own backup like any files.
Where Fleep stores this, by platform
%APPDATA%\Fleep
Electron cache and preferences under Roaming. History syncs from the account, so local copies are optional. Close the app before copying.
~/Library/Application Support/Fleep
Same Electron layout under Application Support. Use Finder Go to Folder to reach it. Downloads live separately in your chosen folder.
~/.config/Fleep
Same layout under XDG config. Respects custom XDG paths. Cache clears alone fix most sluggishness.
Frequently asked questions
How do I move Fleep to a new computer?
Sign in with the same account and let history sync, then copy any downloads folder by hand. Messages live server side; local data is cache. Reinstalls cost nothing but a fresh sync wait.
How do I clear the Fleep cache safely?
Quit Fleep and delete the Cache and Code Cache subfolders inside its data directory. Conversations resync from the account. Pinned files already downloaded stay in your downloads folder.
