Where Does Flock Store Local Data?

Flock desktop apps keep cache and session data in per-OS folders, with chat history syncing from the team workspace.

Last updated

Flock runs on desktop (Windows, Mac, Linux) plus mobile and web, with history synced across all of them. Desktop builds keep cache, cookies, and session state in a Flock folder under the OS app-data root.

The support docs themselves point at the Roaming/Flock folder for Windows cleanup. Mac and Linux follow the same Electron-style pattern with cache and preferences nearby. Server-side history means local wipes never cost conversations.

Where Flock stores this, by platform

Windows
%APPDATA%\Flock

Cache, sessions, and settings per Flock support cleanup docs. A Local/Flock install folder may also exist; data worth clearing lives in Roaming.

macOS
~/Library/Application Support/Flock

Same role; support docs list the standard macOS cache, preferences, and saved-state spots as siblings. Quit Flock fully before clearing.

Linux
~/.config/Flock

Same interior folders under the usual config root. Mobile apps sync the same workspace, so desktop resets never strand phone users.

Frequently asked questions

How do I fully remove Flock leftovers after uninstall?

Uninstall, then delete the Flock data folder for your OS (Roaming/Flock on Windows). Reinstall and sign in; channels and files resync from the workspace.
