Where Does Pumble Store Local Data?

Pumble desktop apps cache sessions and workspace data in per-OS Electron folders, while message history stays server-side.

Last updated

Pumble ships desktop apps for Windows, Mac, and Linux alongside mobile clients. The desktop builds follow Electron conventions: a Pumble folder in the OS app-data root with cache, local storage, session files, and logs.

Message history itself lives in the workspace cloud, not on disk. That makes desktop data disposable for troubleshooting but pointless for migration. New machine means fresh install plus login, nothing to carry over.

Where Pumble stores this, by platform

Windows
%APPDATA%\Pumble

Electron cache, sessions, and logs (folder may read Pumble or pumble-desktop by release). History is server-side; clearing here only drops local state.

macOS
~/Library/Application Support/Pumble

Same role as Windows. If the folder name differs by release, search Application Support for Pumble and clear what you find with the app quit.

Linux
~/.config/Pumble

Same interior folders. Desktop Linux builds exist alongside mobile apps; all of them resync history from the workspace on sign-in.

Frequently asked questions

Pumble desktop is glitchy. How do I reset it without losing chats?

Quit Pumble everywhere, clear the desktop data folder for your OS, and sign in again. Mobile apps keep working untouched; history downloads fresh from the server.

Does clearing Pumble local data delete messages?

No. Clearing desktop data only drops cache and session files. Channels, DMs, and files live in your Pumble workspace online and resync on login.
