Where Does GeForce NOW Store Cache and Logs?

Where GeForce NOW keeps cache, logs and settings on desktop.

Last updated

The GeForce NOW app keeps its working data under an NVIDIA Corporation folder: CefCache for the embedded browser, plus app logs NVIDIA support asks for by name. Settings sync with your NVIDIA account, so reinstalls recover quickly.

Cache size is the recurring complaint (tens of gigabytes in bad cases). Wiping CefCache while the app is closed is safe and the documented lag fix. Game saves themselves live with Steam or Epic cloud, never in this folder.

Where GeForce NOW stores this, by platform

Windows
%LOCALAPPDATA%\NVIDIA Corporation\GeForceNOW\

Holds CefCache, app logs and local settings. Delete CefCache while closed to fix lag spikes. Game saves are not here: those live in Steam or Epic cloud.

macOS
~/Library/Application Support/NVIDIA/GeForceNOW/

Same role on Mac with CefCache inside. Quit the app, trash CefCache and relaunch. Use Go to Folder in Finder to reach it.

Frequently asked questions

How do I clear the GeForce NOW cache?

Quit GeForce NOW fully, then delete the CefCache folder inside the GeForceNOW data directory and relaunch. It rebuilds on start and clears most stutter blamed on a bloated embedded browser cache.

Support asked for logs but the app will not open. Where are they?

Collect the files under the GeForceNOW LocalAppData folder and send those. NVIDIA support documents ten log files there for cases where in-app feedback cannot launch.
