Where Does IdleOn Store Save Data?

IdleOn's desktop client keeps local files in a legends-of-idleon folder in Roaming AppData. Character progress lives on the server, not on disk.

IdleOn, Lavaflame2's idle MMO, runs your characters while you are away because the important state is server-side. The desktop client still keeps a local data folder at %APPDATA%\legends-of-idleon, and people regularly mistake it for the save.

It is not the save. It is the client's own storage: local settings and cache for what is an Electron app underneath. Deleting it signs you out and resets local preferences, and the client rebuilds the folder on the next launch. Backing it up preserves convenience, not characters.

Where IdleOn stores this, by platform

Windows
%APPDATA%\legends-of-idleon

Roaming AppData is hidden by default, so paste the path into the Run dialog rather than browsing. The folder serves the desktop client on Steam and standalone builds. Characters, items and progress come from IdleOn's servers once you log in.

Frequently asked questions

Is IdleOn progress saved on my PC?

No. Characters are server-side and tied to your login, so you can play the same account on another PC or the mobile version without copying any files. That is also why the game keeps running while you are offline.

What is inside the legends-of-idleon folder?

Local client data: settings, caches and files the desktop app keeps for itself. Deleting it is a safe troubleshooting step, and the only cost is signing in again and redoing preferences.

Can I edit my IdleOn save with a file editor?

There is no local save file to edit. That is deliberate for an online game, so save editors do not exist for IdleOn the way they do for single-player titles.
