ImHex stores settings, window layouts, pattern files, and recent projects under its config folder: ~/.config/imhex on Linux, AppData Roaming imhex on Windows, Application Support imhex on macOS. Flatpak remaps into its data tree.
Patterns and scripts deserve their own backup since they represent real work. Settings alone restore in seconds. Copy the folder with ImHex closed and keep plugin versions matched across machines.

Settings, layouts, patterns, and recents. Copy whole folder. Portable builds keep the same tree beside the exe.
~/Library/Application Support/imhex
Same layout as other platforms. Library is hidden in Finder. Plugin binaries come from installs, not this folder.
~/.config/imhex
Same content under XDG config. Flatpak equivalent is ~/.var/app/net.werwolv.ImHex/config/imhex. Check that path for Flatpak installs.
