Where Does Cutter Store Projects and Settings?

Cutter keeps Rizin projects beside their binaries, with settings and plugins in a per user Rizin folder.

Last updated

Cutter inherits Rizin's storage model: project files sit next to the analyzed binary, while the user folder holds settings, color themes, Python plugins and recent file lists.

The Rizin backend adds its own config home with history and type libraries. Wiping the user folder resets the interface without touching any analysis project, since those live with their targets.

Where Cutter stores this, by platform

Linux
~/.config/RadareOrg/Cutter

Settings and UI state. Rizin backend data sits in ~/.local/share/rizin with history in ~/.cache/rizin. Projects remain as files beside their binaries.

Windows
%APPDATA%\RadareOrg\Cutter

Same role on Windows with Rizin data under %LOCALAPPDATA%\rizin. Portable builds keep everything beside the executable instead.

macOS
~/Library/Application Support/RadareOrg/Cutter

Same layout on Mac. Delete the Cutter folder to reset preferences while projects stay intact.
