Where Does JPEGView Store Settings?
Where JPEGView keeps its ini plus processing database on Windows, and how portable mode moves them along.
Last updated
JPEGView keeps settings in an ini file under Roaming app data with a processing database beside it. Per image parameters accumulate in that database across viewing sessions. A portable flag redirects both files next to the exe for USB use.
Package manager installs add their own persistence variant that follows the manager layout. File associations are the only registry touchpoint and only when set as default. Close the app before editing the ini since open sessions overwrite it. Zoom presets share the ini file, so one copy roams every preference.

%APPDATA%\JPEGView\JPEGView.ini
Roaming ini plus processing database in one folder. Portable flag moves both next to the exe. Package installs add their own variant.
Frequently asked questions
How do I make JPEGView fully portable on a USB stick?
Open the global ini and set the store to exe path flag, which redirects user settings plus the processing database next to the exe. Keep the app closed while flipping the flag so it takes effect on next launch. Copy the exe folder whole for USB stick use.
Does JPEGView store settings in the registry?
No. Only file association entries touch the registry when set as the default viewer. All viewer settings stay in ini files at the paths in this post. Portable mode keeps even those beside the exe.
