Where Does Kalshi Store App Data?

Kalshi stores balances, positions and history on its servers. The app keeps only session files and cache in private storage.

Last updated

Kalshi brought regulated event trading to a mainstream audience, and through October 2026 its app has sat near the top of the US finance charts. It is a trading client, so the data model is simple: everything that matters is on Kalshi's servers under your account.

The phone holds a session and a cache, nothing that resembles a statement file. If you are looking for a local copy of your positions or history, it does not exist; the app and the website render it from the server. Plan records accordingly.

Where Kalshi stores this, by platform

Android
/storage/emulated/0/Android/data/com.kalshi.mobile

Scoped storage for the app, per the Google Play listing. The private half at /data/data/com.kalshi.mobile holds session and cache data and needs root. Clearing app data signs you out; the account and positions are untouched.

iOS
/var/mobile/Containers/Data/Application/<guid>

The app's container in the iOS sandbox, where the guid changes per install. Everything trade-related is fetched from servers, so the container is small unless cached market data builds up. Manage it from the iPhone Storage screen.

Frequently asked questions

Where does Kalshi store my positions and history?

On Kalshi's servers, tied to your account. There is no local portfolio or statement file on the phone, so sign in on any device or the website to see the same balances and trade history.

What do I lose if I clear the Kalshi app's data?

The session, so you sign in again, and cached views that rebuild on demand. Balances, positions and order history come from the server and do not depend on anything stored locally.

Can I back up my Kalshi account from the app?

Nothing on the device is worth backing up; the account is the backup. Keep your login details and two-factor method safe instead of copying app folders.
