Where Does Kega Fusion Store Settings and Saves?
Kega Fusion portable ini plus SRAM saves beside your ROMs, Sega style.
Last updated
Kega Fusion keeps settings in a Fusion.ini beside the executable and writes SRAM saves next to the ROMs, following the portable tradition of its era. No registry keys, no AppData folders. The emulator folder plus ROM folders are the complete universe.
Master System, Game Gear, Genesis, Sega CD and 32X all share the same scheme with per system SRAM extensions. Sega CD adds one wrinkle: internal backup RAM lives in files of its own, so backup players copy those alongside the disc images rather than hunting the ROM folders alone.
Where Kega Fusion stores this, by platform
[Fusion folder]\Fusion.ini
The ini holds video, input, BIOS paths and directory overrides in plain text. SRAM files sit beside their ROMs and work in other Genesis emulators. Copy both halves with Fusion closed.
Frequently asked questions
how do i move kega fusion to a new pc
Copy the emulator folder plus your ROM folders with Fusion closed. Fusion.ini carries video, input and path settings while SRAM progress travels with the games, so both halves matter for a working migration.
srm versus save states in fusion
SRAM .srm files work across Genesis emulators, while save states only load back into Fusion itself. Use SRAM for moving between programs and states for rewinding inside Fusion.
