Where Does Koala Sampler Store Projects?
Koala Sampler keeps songs inside the app and shares them out as audio exports and project files through Files.
Last updated
Koala Sampler records and sequences inside the app, and your songs live there until you deliberately share them out. Finished work leaves as WAV mixdowns, stems, or project files through the share sheet.
On iOS the app exposes its folder to the Files app, which is the practical way to shuffle samples in and projects out. Android works the same way through shared storage. Either way, an exported mix in your music library is the only copy that survives an uninstall.
Where Koala Sampler stores this, by platform
Files app > On My iPhone > Koala (app folder)
Projects and recordings live in the app's Files folder. Export mixdowns as WAV and project files through share, and keep a copy outside the app before uninstalling or switching phones.
In-app library; share exports to shared storage
Songs stay in app-private storage until exported. Share mixdowns out to Music or Downloads for safekeeping. Clearing app storage deletes unexported songs permanently.
Frequently asked questions
How do I move a finished beat to my computer?
Use the share/export function for a WAV mixdown plus the project file. Copying raw folders by hand misses the project metadata that glues samples to sequences.
Can I load my own sample packs from storage?
Yes, through the Files app on iOS or shared storage on Android. Load them with the import function so Koala indexes them instead of referencing a path that later disappears.
