Where Does Komikku Store Downloads and Backups?

Where Komikku keeps its storage root, downloads and automatic backups.

Last updated

Komikku uses one user chosen storage root with three children: downloads organized by source and title, autobackup with timestamped .tachibk files, and local for sideloaded comics. Everything flows from the More, Data and storage screen.

Backups restore across endorsed forks since they share the format. Keep the root outside system folders and on internal storage for speed. SD cards work but slow library loads noticeably.

User chosen root with downloads, autobackup and local children. Backups use app prefixed .tachibk names. Move chapters into downloads then reindex after changing locations. Avoid Documents and Downloads system folders.

Frequently asked questions

Where should I point Komikku storage?

Create a Komikku folder at storage top level and grant access to that folder during setup. System folders like Documents break access, and the FAQ calls this out explicitly.

How do I move Komikku downloads to a new folder?

Move existing chapters into the downloads folder of the new location, then run Reindex downloads from Advanced settings. Autobackups live in the autobackup sibling folder as .tachibk files.
