Where Does Titanium Backup Store Backups?
Titanium Backup writes app backups to a TitaniumBackup folder on shared storage, changeable in Preferences.
Last updated
Titanium Backup stores every backup as files in a TitaniumBackup folder on shared storage, one properties file plus archives per app. The default sits at the root of your SD storage, and you can move it anywhere from Preferences, Backup folder location.
The app's own schedules and filters live separately and sync to the same storage when Auto Sync TB Settings is on. Before wiping or switching ROMs, copy the whole TitaniumBackup folder to a PC. A factory reset that formats shared storage erases backups along with everything else.
Where Titanium Backup stores this, by platform
/sdcard/TitaniumBackup/
Default backup home: per-app archives plus properties files. Change it in Preferences > Backup folder location (must open the target folder and tap Use the current folder). Schedules and filters sync to sdcard/data/com.keramidas.TitaniumBackup/settings/ when auto sync is enabled.
Frequently asked questions
How do I move Titanium Backup to a new phone?
Copy the TitaniumBackup folder to the same storage on the new phone, set the backup folder location to it in Preferences, and enable Auto Sync TB Settings to carry schedules over. Then batch restore. Root is required on the new device for app data, not just APKs.
Titanium Backup can't see my old backups. Why?
The backup folder path probably changed. Open Preferences, Backup folder location, and point it at the folder holding the files again. Samsung and multi-storage devices are the usual cases, since internal versus external card paths differ per ROM.
