Where Does Swift Backup Store Backups?

Swift Backup writes device backups to a SwiftBackup folder on internal storage, movable to SD or cloud.

Last updated

Swift Backup keeps device backups in a SwiftBackup folder on internal storage, switchable to SD card or USB from the Home tab. Everything is encrypted except APKs, expansion files, and wallpapers. Cloud copies go to whichever provider you connected.

Backups tie to the Swift Backup account that made them, so sign in with the same account on the new phone. To survive a full wipe, copy the whole SwiftBackup folder to a PC or cloud first, then copy it back before reinstalling. Never rearrange files inside it, only move the main folder.

Frequently asked questions

How do I move Swift Backup to a new phone?

Copy the SwiftBackup folder to the new device, install Swift Backup, and sign in with the same account used for the backups. Without the matching account the encrypted backups will not restore. Keep subscription links separately too.

Does Swift Backup need root?

Only for private app data in /data/data and for batch restores. APKs, messages, call logs, folders, and wallpapers back up without root. Shizuku covers some batch operations on supported Android versions.
