Where Does Liftoff: FPV Drone Racing Store Data?

Liftoff Unity config and progress on Windows, macOS and Linux, plus Steam Cloud behavior.

Last updated

Liftoff is a Unity sim, so settings follow Unity player prefs conventions per OS. Track progress syncs through Steam Cloud on PC builds.

Custom quads, rates and controller calibration matter more than campaign slots here. Copy the config folder before wiping or moving rigs. Steam Deck uses the Linux tree.

Where Liftoff stores this, by platform

Windows
%USERPROFILE%\AppData\LocalLow\LuGus Studios\Liftoff\

Unity LocalLow save tree (progress plus input prefs). Registry holds a mirror of player prefs under HKCU\Software\LuGus Studios\Liftoff. Copy the folder with the game closed.

macOS
~/Library/Application Support/unity.LuGus Studios.Liftoff/

Mac Unity support path. Plist prefs sit beside it. Exact casing may vary by version, so list Application Support for Liftoff entries if missing.

Linux
~/.config/unity3d/LuGus Studios/Liftoff/

Unity config home path (prefs file inside). Steam Cloud covers progress on most installs. Some distros use ~/.config/unity3d with lowercased studio names.

Frequently asked questions

Where are my Liftoff custom quads?

Inside the Liftoff player data folder above, beside progress. Back up the whole folder to keep frames, rates and tracks together. Single files restore poorly.

Do I lose progress switching from PC to Steam Deck?

No when Steam Cloud is on. Both use the same Cloud slots. If a quad goes missing, check the local config folder above before remapping the controller.
