Lunar Client keeps its own universe in a .lunarclient folder in your home directory, deliberately separate from the vanilla .minecraft tree. Versions, mods, settings, and logs all live inside it.
That separation is why reinstalling Minecraft or deleting .minecraft never touches Lunar setups, and vice versa. Backups mean one folder copy with the launcher closed. Microsoft login state is the only thing that does not travel and needs a fresh sign in. The About page prints the live data path for Flatpak doubts.
Where Lunar Client stores this, by platform
%USERPROFILE%\.lunarclient
settings, mods, versions, and logs subfolders inside. Paste %USERPROFILE%\.lunarclient into Explorer. Offline UUID mode aside, online play reuses the same Microsoft account as vanilla.

Same layout as Windows. The folder is hidden, so show hidden files to browse it. Launcher updates rewrite files in place, which is why a pre update copy is cheap insurance.
